Biography

Billy Johnson came through the reserves of the Rovers as a youngster in 2008, and has become a stalwart for the club. Billy has played just under 400 games and scored just under one hundred goals across fifteen seasons at the club.

Billy moved to the Rovers from Billericay Town in 2008 and played primarily as a striker for the reserves for one season, finishing as the team’s top scorer and helping them finish as runners-up in the Essex and Herts combination league and won the Essex and Herts Border Combination Cup during his first year at the club. Billy consistently put in good performances for the reserve side which led to his promotion to the first team during his first season where he has proved to be an asset for the team.

He is a natural born goal scorer is not afraid to shoot and can also play as a winger to support attacks. He has achieved three hattricks, including a seven minute hat trick against Thurrock in a 5-1 win in 2015, all goals coming in the first half. During his time for the Rovers, he has played a key role in helping them win two league and cup doubles of the Essex Senior League and the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup in 2014 and 2018. His later years has seen him convert as a wing back who can pick a good pass and deliver a great cross when playing out wide.
