They first faced Hullbridge when they played in the old Southend and district league in 1947 and are now quite familiar with each other following their rise through the leagues and into the Essex Senior League.

Hullbridge Sports are currently managed by a familiar face or Steve Roberts. He previously managed the Rovers between January and October 2023 when he took over when they were in a relegation battle in the Isthmian North league. He managed to keep us up on the final day but lost in the relegation playoff to Quorn 5-0, relegating the rovers to the Essex Senior League. Following some inconsistent results, Steve Roberts resigned. He took over at Hullbridge in May 2024.
